‘Mansion with Cats’ on Bosphorus on sale for $18 million
A mansion on the Bosphorus Strait of Istanbul has been put on sale for 95 million Turkish Liras ($18 million), a real estate agent has said.
Fatma Yaşa Mansion, built in 1850 on a 6,500 square-meter land, was also known as “Mansion with Cats”.
It is located in Istanbul’s Kuzguncuk neighborhood, just opposite the Ottoman palaces on the European side.
The four-story building has been designated as a second-degree historical monument. It has a 180-degree view of the Bosphorus.
Like many of the other 660 Bosphorus mansion owners, the owner of the mansion prefers to remain anonymous.
“The most expensive mansions on the Bosphorus are located in the area between the two bridges. This area is the brightest and busiest part of the Bosphorus Strait,” said real-estate agent Evrim Kırmızıtaş Başaran.
“Whereas the cheapest ones are located in Sarıyer district’s parts near the Black Sea where the sea view during nights is always dark,” she added.
34 Bosphorus mansion were sold in the last 11 years, the most expensive ones being between Yeniköy and Kanlıca neighborhoods, she also said.
