Three Turkish soldiers killed, seven wounded in cross-border PKK attacks in Turkey’s Hakkari

Three Turkish soldiers were killed and seven wounded in cross-border attacks carried out by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) from northern Iraq, targeting the eastern Turkish province of Hakkari on Feb. 1.

One Turkish soldier was killed and five others were wounded in the first PKK attack.

The attackers used a guided missile to target the military base located by the Güven Mountain, the agency reported.

Two Turkish soldiers were killed and two soldiers wounded in the second attack, which took place in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district at 2 p.m. on Feb. 1. At the time of writing, the details of this second attack had not yet been revealed.

The wounded soldiers were transferred to hospitals for treatment, according to a report from the agency.

The operation against the militants is ongoing in the area.
