One soldier killed, three wounded in clashes in SE Turkey

One soldier was killed and three more were wounded in clashes with suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) near the Hakkari-Şırnak border in southeastern Turkey, Anatolia news agency reported.

Security forces made contact with a group of militants around 10 p.m. last night during operations in northern areas of the region.

One specialist sergeant was killed and three more were wounded during the clashes.

Operations are continuing in the area.
