ISTANBUL - HürriyetAround 50,000 noncommissioned officers (NCOs) will be marching to the Anıtkabir mausoleum of Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, on Oct. 19 as part of a series of activities conducted to celebrate “World NCOs Day.”
The significant day for NCOs, which has been set as October 17 by a retired Turkish NCO, will be honored with several events that will begin with placing a wreath on Atatürk’s mausoleum today and will end with a concert by famous Turkish singer Nazan Öncel on Oct. 19 following a 50,000-person cortege’s visit to Anıtkabir at the same day.
