A Turkish mother in the southwestern province of Muğla went on a rampage yesterday morning, allegedly killing her two children before attempting to take her own life.

Tuğba G., 28, allegedly stabbed to death her two infants, 3.5-month-old Aylin G. and 2-year-old, before attempting suicide. The woman’s husband, Yaşar G., discovered the three lying on the floor drenched in blood before calling emergency services.

The mother was placed in an intensive care unit amid a reported nervous breakdown.

The local prosecutor has begun an investigation, while the two infants have been sent to the Muğla Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.
