Mardin set as role model for Turkey

The southeastern province of Mardin is an economic model for the rest of the country, World Bank Turkey Director Martin Reiser said July 5. Mardin is a highly attractive place for businesspeople working with Iraq, Reiser said during a visit to Mardin Gov. Turhan Ayvaz.

Speaking to reporters, Ayvaz said Mardin was the region’s shining star. Mardin has been included in a new stimulus package. There has been an increase in the number of companies coming from the western provinces for investment in Mardin, the governor added.

Reiser said he had come to Mardin to learn about its transformation and future plans.
