Locals of Istanbul’s Kadıköy district held a protest after four days of water cuts, as the district municipality began distributing well water to locals Sept. 29.

A group of locals, wearing towels, held a protest in the Moda neighborhood of Kadıköy, located on the Anatolian side of the city. The water cut was reportedly caused by a breakdown in the water pipes located in the Söğütlüçeşme area. The Kadıköy municipality sent four water tankers with well water to the central spots of the district and distributed water to locals.

Seher Kadıoğlu, one of the locals, said the water has been cut since Sept. 25. Meanwhile, maintenance workers from the Istanbul Greater Municipality (İBB) have been working on the broken pipe yesterday.
