Language criteria for advisers abroad changed

ANKARA - Hürriyet
Senior managers in the Education Ministry and education faculty lecturers no longer have to be fluent in a second language to be nominated as an education adviser abroad thanks to a new Education Ministry regulation.

As Ankara prepares to nominate new education advisers abroad for 2012, a regulation published in the Official Gazette Dec. 16 amended the required skills of candidates. According to the new regulation, the conditions for being an adviser no longer include speaking a foreign language in an advanced level if the nominee is a senior manager in the Education Ministry or a lecturer of a university education department.
