Kurdish meeting talks to continue in Arbil

A committee, established during a meeting in Arbil to decide on the technical details of a planned Kurdish National Conference, is set to gather on July 27.

The Preparation Committee of the Kurdish National Conference is scheduled to gather on July 27 in Arbil city headed by council chairman of Iraq’s Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Fuad Hossein.

The meeting in Arbil is being convened to discuss the date and participants of the planned Kurdish conference, attended by representatives from several countries including Turkey, Anadolu agency reported July 26.

The 21-person committee was founded during a July 22 meeting in Arbil, headed by the president of the KRG, Massoud Barzani, and attended by many Kurdish groups from neighboring countries. The committee said in a written statement on July 25 that they would not take any political decisions and not set the agenda of the conference, but would only determine the date, participants and other technical details about the Kurdish National Conference.
