With the launch of the new manufacturing line in Romania, the company’s annual output capacity raises by 25 percent to 2.5 million units.

Romanian home appliances manufacturer Arctic, a unit of Turkey’s Arçelik, owned by Koç Holding, has launched a 24-million-euro ($32 million) fridge production line at its factory in the city of Gaesti, in southern Romania.

The launch of the new manufacturing line raises Arctic’s annual output capacity by 25 percent to 2.5 million units, making the facility the second largest refrigerator factory in Europe after another one owned by Arçelik in the Turkish city of Eskisehir, Arçelik general manager Levent Çakıroğlu said, adding that Arçelik had invested around 108 million euros in the company since 2002.

Romania’s government had provided incentives that will cover 10.2 million euro of the cost of the investment, he added.
