The cocktail party to present the Karun Treasures project took place in Uşak and hosted many guests from Italy and Greece.

Lydian artifacts, also known as the Karun Treasure, currently on display at the Uşak Archaeology Museum in the western province of Uşak will be presented to an international audience in a new project titled “The Path of Karun, Peace and Cooperation Way.”

In collaboration with Italian Prato Textile Museum and the Greek Tragilos Museum the project will display photographs of the most important 50 pieces from the treasure in international museums.
The grant project, which is supported by the European Union ended with a cocktail night organized for the project.

The cocktail party took place at Atatürk Culture Center and hosted many guests from Italy and Greece. Uşak Vice Mayor Ferhat Kurtoğlu, Culture and Tourism Manager Şerif Arıtürk, Uşak Archaeology Museum Manager Sabiha Pazarcı, Italy Prato Textile Museum Filippo Guarini, Greece Tragilos Museum expert Apostolina Tsaltampası also attended the cocktail party.

A total of 116,000 Euros had thus far been given for the Uşak Archaeology Museum, which displays only 2,000 pieces of the 41,600-piece collection, Pazarcı said. Pazarcı said the goal of the project was to bring global awareness to the Karun Treasure.

“Our aim is to increase its audience and also open our museum to the world. To make the project lots of museums were analyzed in the Europe.”

The experts have visited different museums in Greece and Italy,” said Pazarcı.
