According to Dr. Canan Karatay, the reason behind uncontrolled weight gain is insulin resistance, which is a direct result of the constant circulation of leptin and insulin in the bloodstream.
Although Dr. Canan Karatay recommends eating foods with a low glycemic index (GI), she also warns that consuming large portions of low-GI foods can cause “high glycemic load.”
