Japanese fans read life of famed Turkish composer

A biography honoring internationally acclaimed Turkish pianist and composer Fazıl Say is being published in Japan, giving Far Eastern fans a chance to learn the details of the pianist’s life and work.

 The book, titled “Pianist, Composer, World Citizen Fazil Say” by Jurgen Otten was published in Europe in 2011 and then in July 2012 in Turkey. Otten’s work sheds light on many unknown aspects of Say’s life ranging from his private life to his outstanding career.

Say is highly recognized in Japan, where a festival in his name was held in 2009 and the Japanese media often refer to him as a “revolutionary musician combining East and West.”
