Istanbul Film festival to feature ‘Snows of Kilimanjaro’

31st Istanbul Film Festival is screening “Snows of Kilimanjaro” today at 11 a.m. at Atlas Cinema.

31st Istanbul Film Festival is screening “Snows of Kilimanjaro” today at 11 a.m. at Atlas Cinema. The 2011 French drama by Robert Guediguian is competing in the International Competition of the festival. The film premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and won the audience award and the Silver Spike at the Valladolid International Film Festival. The story, written by director Guediguian and Jean-Louis Milesi, takes its inspiration from the poem “Poor People,” one of the best known of Victor Hugo’s poems from his three-volume poetry collection, “The Legend of the Centuries.” Tickets are available at Biletix booths.
