Israel needs to "stop feeding on blood and tears" and follow a "responsible" path to a solution with the Palestinians, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said during a party meeting today.

"Israel needs to act responsibly for the sake and safety of the region," Erdoğan said. "The region is not what it used to be. Neighboring countries, as well as the world, are now tired of Israel's lawless acts. Israel needs to stop feeding on blood and tears."

Erdoğan also called on Israel to stop "deceiving and torturing its own people."

"Israel is hurting regional peace," Erdoğan said. "It's hurting its own people as much as the outside world."

Unfortuately we have too many power hungry psychopaths in the region our country included. Can anyone name a country at peace with itself? It is and will and remain volatile. But we don't need to stick in our nose in others issues and get to work at what is important domestically before we get our own internal war. Sack the FM he just gets the PM broiled and out of control. Sort out your own and then poke your nose in.

Only if all Turks were like Erdogan, today they would still have the Ottoman Empire and Israel would not even be on the fake map produced by colonial rulers. Now days all we have is Turks that hate Kurds, racist to the max and want to be British and French so bad. They don't sleep a single night without thinking about EU and making prayer for EU.

I tried to turn the tables as suggested and could not make any sense of it either. Instead I found this: Turkish military has been pounding Kurdish gurellias from the air and ground for two decades, how many children and white flag waving women have been killed, how many homes blown with people in them, how many road blocks, how many Kurds have been robbed and killed by "Turkish settlers"? None!

I Congratulate Erdogan and the FM for sticking by the Palenstinians in they fight for JUSTICE in the World and they statehood, how twenty million Palenstinians are displaced from they rightfull homes have a right of return,Who? has the right to expell you from your home at the point of a gun, then shoot you if you resit, why is Israel allowed to get away with these crimes for so long? for the first time the palestinians, thanks to Turkey, can seek justice and have a voice at the UN.

@Brit in Turkey. I'm not talking about the last sixty years of our great Republic. I'm only talking about the last ten years, how Mr. Erdogan is trying to destroy it and turn it into an Islamic country. By calling Hamas his brothers, he has blood on his hands. As a Turk I don't want a Hamas terrorist as my brother.

There should be a case / file ready prepared against Israel which is ready to go to the ICC and any other relevant body’s when the time presents itself, I bet such a case / file has not even been drafted yet....I really hope someone is working on this. Erdogan organize it....

Yes it’s time to stop the supporting this Israeli aggression, time to speak out against their illegal settlements, time to give all illegally settled areas back to the Palestinian people. Time for all people who want justice for the Palestinians to speak up. Enough suffering by the Palestinian nation. What is the next step in having Israel face the ICC.

I like Kemal Candar's turning of the table; it is very appropriate! Jim Rebel is right too: the US' pro-jewish lobby's influence is beyond logic and reason. Jobs Jon likens Erdogan to a Doctor, which I find very naive given Erdogan's crude rhetoric. I agree with the red line though, which these "spoiled-brat-tantrum-pitching-bully-take-my-toys-from-the-sandbox-i'll-show-you" guys ave crossed since decades. (thank you Roger Harding for the description)!

Kemal Candar. I'm having difficulty finding anything that Turkey has done in the last 60 years that equates even slightly with what Israel has done over the same period. And don't mention "Kurdish problem". The problem is not with the Turkish people of Kurdish descent, but with a few PKK fanatics. Turkey is not continuously attacking a neighbouring country or robbing it of its lands. Remember that Israel's boundaries were defined in May 1948. Roger Harding. Well said!
