Two female tourists from Iran have made a female taxi driver in Istanbul cry by paying the fare with a fake 100 Turkish Lira bill.

Locals tried to console the 60-year-old Nurşen Aşık when she was spotted near Taksim Square crying for being tricked.

Aşık told Demirören News Agency on Oct. 24 that she took the 100 lira bill from the tourists and gave 40 liras as change for a fare from Maslak to Taksim.

“I carried their suitcases and put them in the trunk myself. I chatted with them during the ride and even complimented them. I noticed that the money was not real after they left,” she said.

Aşık has been a taxi driver in Istanbul for the past five years, the report said.
