Injured pelican learns to fly after healing

An injured pelican, separated from its flock by a powerful storm over Lake Tanganyika, was discovered by the staff of the Greystoke Mahale resort in Tanzania and nursed back to health. The young male pelican, named “Big Bird,” was taught how to fly by the staff and the experience was recorded by a small GoPro camera strapped to his bill.
