Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has said he would like to learn the Kurdish language if he had the time, daily Hürriyet reported.

"I am highly interested in the Kurdish language as I am toward all languages. If I had the time the first thing I would do would be to learn Kurdish in order to be familiar with all the languages of our land," Davutoğlu said.

"The mixing of all languages like Arabic, Persian and Turkish shows us how intertwined we are as societies," the foreign minister said. "What is seen as Turkey's weakness is in fact its greatness. Turkey is still the only center to bring together all these divided identities."
