Hürriyet’s quake campaign awarded
ISTANBUL - Hürriyet
The Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) has awarded daily Hürriyet with a gold medal for its efforts in building 345 containers at a cost of 3 million Turkish Liras in earthquake-hit Erciş, a district in the eastern province of Van.
The gold medal will be awarded by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at a ceremony on Aug. 10 at the Haliç Congress Hall.
Some 145 medals will be awarded to leaders of the business community, as well as famous personalities at the ceromony.
Doğan Yayın Holding, DTV Haber Görsel Yayıncılık and daily Posta will also receive gold medals from the Red Crescent.
