The Education Ministry has prepared guideline booklets for Syrians under temporary protection status in Turkey to inform them about counseling services in order to facilitate students’ integration.

According to a statement published on the ministry’s website, the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services’ booklets will be used in counseling services to be offered in 81 provinces across Turkey.

Another booklet was also prepared in cooperation with UNICEF to provide guidelines for the counseling personnel.Around 160 counsellors are receiving training to take part in the education program.

Students are to carry out activities that aim to raise awareness on multiculturalism in order to support the process of adaptation into Turkish society.

It also aims to support Syrians who suffer from post-war trauma and instill coping skills.

The guideline booklets will be distributed until the end of December.
