Greek tragedy goes to European universities

Greek tragedy goes to European universities Performers with SuOyuncuları from Sabancı University’s Theater Club are preparing for a European tour with an English-language rendering of the ancient Greek tragedy of “Medea.” The tour will start Jan. 23 with a reception to be given by Mustafa Türker Arı, Turkey’s consul general in Stuttgart. SuOyuncuları will perform the play Jan. 24 at Viadrina University in Frankfurt an der Oder.

The play will also be staged at Karlsruhe Technical University on Jan. 25 and the Mensa of Ulm University on Jan. 27.

Following the German tour, the theater club will perform the play in various Dutch universities.
Medea is a tragedy that takes place in present-day Greece and Anatolia, and utilizes elements of contemporary drama.
