A Greek Cabinet member has resigned, the latest casualty for the crisis-hit country’s new conservative-led government.

State television reported that Giorgos Vernicos, deputy minister for merchant marine, announced his resignation today.

He did not give a reason for his departure, but the opposition has recently accused him of a conflict of interest.

Yesterday, the designated finance minister resigned due to illness. New Prime Minister Antonis Samaras himself is recovering from a weekend eye operation.

V. DENAXAS You are right. Why should you appreciate GCs? For a whole century they were trying to annex Greece ! They waged a coup ! they contributed to your economic collapse ! I 'm afraid you have to unveil more 'hidden truths' in order to understand who is principally responsible for the suffering of BOTH GCs and TCs.

Albay no matter what I was hearing or reading in our school books for you when I was a small child, through years, and through reading books of some independent Greeks, I found out many hidden truths about many historical events like what you suffered in the 60's down there, although GC's also suffered in the process. Honestly I have personally no problem with anyone (here in the Greek mainland I cannot say that we appreciate the GC's always very much).

Q Vangelis perhaps we will end up being best friends! I am happy at last you agree with a Turkish cypriot perhaps it should be worth a news headline in TV!

Albay although I don't agree with you on other matters, on this I follow your opinion. Your thought here fits especially for people like Vernicos who belongs to a maritime industry businessmen family. All of them are known here for years now for their tax paying tricks...

perhaps he could not earn enough money under the table so he want back to his other businesses where he will of course dodge paying tax!
