Five Gazans were killed in Israeli air strikes on Thursday as militants fired around 250 rockets over the border, killing three Israelis, officials on both sides said. The latest violence raised to 13 the total number of Gazans killed in 20 hours of Israeli air strikes, which also left at least 120 people injured, medics said.
In the same period, Gaza rockets killed three Israelis and injured another five in a direct hit on a residential building in the southern town of Kiryat Malachi, police said.
Soon after dawn on Thursday, an Israeli air strike east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis killed three Palestinians, medical officials said.
The armed wing of Hamas, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said that the three men were all members and were hit as they travelled in a motorcycle-taxi.
Later in the day an air strike hit northern Gaza where two people were killed and another person was injured, medics said.

It was not immediately clear if they were civilians or militants. Thursday's rocket strike in Kiryat Malachi "killed ... two males and a female in two apartments in a building which was hit," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP, saying another five people were injured, four lightly and one moderately.
Since the violence erupted when Israel killed a top Hamas militant on Wednesday afternoon, the military has carried out "around 150 strikes" on Gaza, a spokeswoman said.
In the same period, "at least 195 rockets" hit Israel while another 48 were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile system.

The bloodshed began at around 1400 GMT on Wednesday when Israel killed Hamas military chief Ahmed Jaabari and his bodyguard, sparking a fierce bout of cross border fighting which continued into the night.
Six more people died during various strikes later on Wednesday, including two children, officials from the Hamas-run health ministry said as Gaza hospitals went on high alert.

@Murat 1.who is accommodating and friendly? the day we left Gaza, uprooting thousands of people from their homes, the Hamas took over, people and burnt flags of Israel. Shortly after the mortars and missiles started to fly towards Israeli cities. 2. who is blocking Gaza? Israel? Sorry that a country in war doesn't open the borders.what about Egypt who closes the border with them? Why aren't they shooting at Egypt? Ah, because Arabs are allowed to kill other Arabs (refer to 30K+ dead Syrians)

I am amazed how ignorant people are!!! the fact that it was not written in the newspapers doesn't mean that there was no daily bombing on Israel! the fact that you didn't hear about it, was because Israel didn't retaliates. I am happy that Israel retaliated and I wish that Gaza be pound hard as this seems the only way that me and my family can lead a normal life. Because when we didn't retaliate, no one cared!!! no Ilker or Murat to cry for us! No one to say how awful war is!

Lior, you can not have your cake and then eat it too as they say. You would be amazed how much more accomodating and friendly people become once you stop stealing their land, water, brutally blockading their sea and land borders and air space, and murdering their farmers, fishermen, women and children and stop denying basic rights and freedoms. By the way, what is the score, or exchange rate? Over 6K soldiers died in the fight against PKK, not even including policemen and milita. Just saying...

Yes, Murat its that time again, Israeli killing season has opened, elections in January,Netanhayu is on the campaign trail, useing the Palenstinians in Gaza as a excuse to start culling the Palenstinian population with culster bombs and phosperous shells to cause cancer and halt the breeding process in women and men,( the same term was used by Hitler on the jews. which was first used on Iraq during desert storm, which caused many deformed born children in Iraq.Israel uses the same banned munitions.

Dear Murat, we have been smelling explosives for the last couple of months in our cities, hospitals and schools... 900 of them from the beginning of the year. Smelling them when (trying) to bring the children to school, when sleeping at night... So the "normal" for you is the condition when Israel defends us, the civilians living in the south by killing the head of the army of the terrorist organization (not a civilian). You smell now since population that you really care about...
