French-Turkish Literature Award presented to Yücel

French-Turkish Literature Award, which was granted to Tahsin Yücel was presented on Dec. 11.

The French-Turkish Literature Award, which was granted to Turkish novelist Tahsin Yücel was presented yesterday at a ceremony held at the Paris Culture and Tourism Office.

Yücel did not attend the ceremony due to health problems but the award was accepted by his daughter. Under the presidency of French novelist and writer Kenize Murad, the jury that decided to honor Yücel with the award this year was composed of Professor Gilles Veinztein of College de France; authors Venus Khoury and Nedim Gürsel; Timur Muhittin, a literature professor; Gaye Petek and political scientist Ali Kazancıgil.
