ŞANLIURFA – Anatolia News AgencyTwo Turkish soldiers, released by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on March 13 after being held captive for months, have returned to their military units yesterday.
Private Hadi Gizli went to his unit in Bayburt yesterday, while Private Reşat Çeçan went to his unit in the Trabzon province. The two privates were captured by the PKK militants around nine months ago on the highway between Diyarbakır and Bingöl, in the southeast of Turkey.
Private Gizli’s brother İbrahim Gizli said they thought that his brother would be discharged from his compulsory military service but that he had been recalled to his duty just two days ago.
