Four soldiers were wounded during Operation Euphrates Shield in al-Bab in northern Syria late on Dec. 12, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The injured soldiers were taken to hospitals in Gaziantep and Kilis.

There were no immediate reports about the circumstances behind their wounding.

In August, Turkish troops entered northern Syria in an operation dubbed Euphrates Shield, which Ankara says targets both the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), the military wing of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD). Turkey regards the YPG and the PYD as terrorist organizations due to their links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
