Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu is scheduled to travel to the United Arab Emirates today to participate in a counterterrorism forum meeting in the capital of Abu Dhabi.

Davutoğlu is set to take part in the third edition of the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum (GCTF), an international initiative to effectively combat terrorism around the world, co-chaired by Turkey and the United States. Davutoğlu will deliver a keynote speech at the opening of the forum. The forum began September 2011 with a ceremony in New York. The second meeting of the GCTF was held in June 2011 in Istanbul.

The GCTF was formed by 29 countries and EU members and is an informal, multilateral counter-terrorism platform that focuses on identifying critical civilian counter-terrorism needs.
