Firefighters called to take 320-kilo French man to hospital Twenty firemen and a bricklayer were dispatched in France to extract a 320-kilo man out of the narrow window of his second-floor apartment in the Cazeres region near Toulouse, French daily Le Parisien reported yesterday.

"I haven't gotten out of my house in more than two years," said the unidentified 48-year-old man, who suffers from morbid obesity.

The man’s condition, coupled with the high summer temperatures, produced an adverse affect on the man's health that included serious respiratory problems and necessitated an immediate visit to a doctor.

The man, however, was neither able to walk nor pass through the doors of his apartment.

Authorities had to send a squad of firefighters and a bricklayer in order to remove the man. The bricklayer widened the window by demolishing the wall, allowing the 20 firemen to remove the man.

He was sent to the nearest hospital in Toulouse.
