FDI falls sharply in 2012

Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Turkey reached $494 million in September with a 34.4 percent drop from the same month last year.

The FDI in the first nine months of the year fell 12 percent to a little more than $10 billion when compared with the January-September period in 2011, according to Economy Ministry figures gathered by the Anatolia news agency.

The capital inflow in the first nine months this year stood at $7.9 billion.
