EU official visits Sudan

KHARTOUM
The vice president of the European Parliament, Gianni Pittella visited the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to meet Sudanese officials regarding development projects.

In a press statement to Sudanese television, Pittella said he was very happy to be in Sudan to discuss ways to develop European-Sudanese relations. He also called for the implementation of the Sudan-South Sudan Cooperation Agreement to reflect the improvement of economic and social conditions in Sudan. Pittella met Abdel Rahman al-Mahdi, assistant to the president, to discuss the progress in European-Sudanese relations. Pittella was briefed on the situation in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan.
