Defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated Czech fifth seed Tomas Berdych in four sets to advance to the semi-finals of the Australian Open on Tuesday.

The Serbian world number one won 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in 2hr 31min on Rod Laver Arena and will face Spanish fourth seed David Ferrer in Thursday's semi-final.
