Coup report introduced to Parliament

Parliament’s Coup and Military Memorandum Commission finalized and introduced its report to the Parliament Speaker’s Office earlier today, daily Hürriyet has reported.

At the same time, main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) deputies introduced their own version of the report.

"We did a good job, which is crucial for democracy. We don't claim that this report is perfect, but we do say that it has historical importance," commission chair Nimet Baş of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) said.

The commission worked on the report for eight months.
