CHP leader’s advisor, Şükrü Karaca passes away

Şükrü Karaca, the Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s advisor, passed away on Jan. 5 due to a sudden heart attack. Karaca was 59.

Karaca lost his life at a private hospital where he was hospitalized early Sunday after he became ill at home. Although there was intense medical care, Karaca lost his life due to a heart attack, the Anadolu Agency reported.

Senior CHP officials, including deputy leader and spokesman Haluk Koç, rushed to the hospital after the news broke out about Karaca’s death. He will be buried at Gölbaşı Cemetery after the funeral prayer that will take place at the Kocatepe Mosque. Karaca also served Turkey’s former prime minister, Tansu Çiller in mid-1990s.
