CHP leader will not attend Erdoğan’s democracy rally in Istanbul

Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will not attend a rally organized by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan commemorating the victims of the failed coup attempt of July 15.The CHP leader will send a party delegation to attend the “Democracy and Martyrs Rally,” to be held in Istanbul’s Yenikapı area on Aug. 7.
Erdoğan had invited opposition party leaders Kılıçdaroğlu and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli to the rally and asked them to deliver individual speeches.
