CHP deputies go to Şemdinli

Five CHP deputies have traveled to the eastern province of Hakkari. DHA photoFive deputies from the main opposition Republican People's Party's (CHP) deputies have traveled to the eastern province of Hakkari to investigate the continuing military operations in Şemdinli.
Isparta deputy Ali Haydar Öner, Gaziantep deputy Mehmet Şeker, Ordu deputy İdris Yıldız, Adıyaman deputy Salih Fırat and İzmir deputy Alaadin Yüksel, the group’s leader, all arrived in Hakkari yesterday afternoon.
The deputies first met with Hakkari Gov. Orhan Alimoğlu for about an hour before continuing on to visit the rector of Hakkari University.
The governor did not make any announcement about the visit.
The deputies are set to visit Şemdinli today to learn more about the operations, which have been continuing for two consecutive weeks.
