Leader of the main opposition the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu repeated his calls to other political parties to gather around the same table to create a solution to the Kurdish question. “If the deputies of this country, party leaders and political parties do not solve this problem than some other sources may get involved.” he said in warning.

“Why have millions of people voted for our parties? We have to fulfill our responsibilities [to them],” he said while speaking at the Turk-Metal Union. Yesterday Kılıçdaroğlu attended the Metal Union’s ordinary General Assembly. Kılıçdaroğlu repeated the CHP’s proposal to solve the Kurdish problem and called for political parties to contribute to the process. “Let’s give up from our previous stands, sharp positions and deserve the votes that we received,” he said.

Kılıçdaroğlu has repeatedly called to the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) as an agreement between the CHP and the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has already been reached. Kılıçdaroğlu called for these parties to solve the problem within the Parliament. “We will fulfill the requirement of democracy,” he said. “If the deputies of this country, party leaders and political parties do not solve this problem than some other sources may get involved. The dynamics of this country, the people of this country and the political system of this country has to solve this problem,” he said. Kılıçdaroğlu indicated that solving the Kurdish problem under the roof of the Parliament will be an important contribution to peace in the country as well as the country’s future.

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli recently closed the door on any probability of meeting in the future, labeling the CHP and AKP as defending the ideas of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. He stated that his party will never take part in such betrayal. BDP representatives, on other hand, have stated that the CHP has not requested a meeting yet.
