Chinese envoy urges miners to invest in Afyon

China’s Ambassador to Ankara Xiaosheng Gong said yesterday that they were working to encourage Chinese investors to invest in the western province of Afyonkarahisar.“Afyonkarahisar is a very important location in Turkey in terms of marble production and mining. In addition, it has rich thermal sources, and is also located in an important farming area,” said Gong, speaking at a conference in the province. He added that he would try to encourage Chinese mining firms to invest in Afyonkarahisar, as China and Turkey work together in the fields of both mining and agriculture.
According to Gong, one Chinese firm is also interested in forming a base in Turkey for the production of ready-made and frozen food.
