Ceylan to give master class on film
ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily NewsWith his cinematic sense combining impressive visuals with the nuances of human nature, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, one of the most significant directors of today’s “auteur” cinema, will give a master class at Istanbul’s Salon İKSV on April 12. He will primarily focus on his latest film, “Once Upon A Time in Anatolia,” which was awarded numerous prizes worldwide, including the “Grand Jury Prize” at Cannes Film Festival, and was listed in “Top 10 film” lists in many countries.
With clips shown from the film, in which an ordinary police investigation turns into a meditation on humanity with gorgeous visuals, attendees will have the unique opportunity to explore the film with its director. Ceylan is also set to discuss some of the specifics of filmmaking more generally, and reveal some of the unknown aspects of his art. Participation at the event is free of charge.
