Bosphorus Jazz Choir looking for sponsor

ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily News
The Bosphorus Jazz Choir is searching for a sponsor to attend the World Choir Olympics, according to daily Radikal. The competition will take place between July 4 and 14.

The team was World Choir Champion in 2011 and they continue their work to represent Turkey in international competitions. However, with little time remaining they do not have a sponsor to go to the U.S. and represent Turkey in the World Choir Olympics.

A world championship and five gold medals

The Bosphorus Jazz Choir won two world championships and five gold medals last year. The team was also listed as one of the top 20 folk choirs. The choir has been chosen as the best choir in Turkey as well.

The team wants to represent Turkey not only in the U.S. but also at the Cantemus Festival, which will be organized in Hungary.

The team is currently both rehearsing and looking for a sponsor. The conductor of the choir, Masis Aram Gözbek said, “We would like people to find us to sponsor us, and this would let us to concentrate on our work only.”

“Last year we were thinking how to attend to the World Choir Olympics. The mini concert we gave in the Istanbul subway made us very popular. The videos of it have also become very popular on our YouTube channel,” said Gözbek.

The team thought they would be able to enter the World Choir Olympics this year. “However our time was very limited.”

The team is currently seeking a sponsor, and they said they wanted to represent Turkey in the international arena.
