Antalya to host TÜYAP Book Fair

ANTALYA - Anatolia News Agency
Turkey’s largest book fair TÜYAP will be organized for the first time in Antalya on Feb. 16, 2012.

The fair will host renowned Turkish writers under the organization of TÜYAP and the Turkish Publishing Houses’ Union at the Glass Pyramid Congress and Fair Center under the leadership of Antalya Chamber of Trade and Industry (ATSO), ATSO President Çetin Osman Budak told a press conference yesterday.

TÜYAP Culture Fairs coordinator Deniz Kavukçuoğlu said Antalya had reached a good stage in the fight against pirated books. “Writers can visit the streets of the city without seeing pirated copies of their books.”

Kavukçuoğlu said the fair would be attended by 40 percent of cultural and literary publishing houses and Elif Şafak, Ayşe Kulin and Can Dündar would be among the guests. He said they expected 100,000 visitors to the fair before it ends Feb. 19.
