Ankara, Kiev abolish visas

ANKARA - Hürriyet Daily News
Ukraine joined the expanding list of countries with visa-free travel regimes for Turkish nationals under an agreement signed during a visit by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych yesterday.

Speaking at a joint press conference, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the agreement, which envisages a mutual visa-free travel regime, would take effect soon after the completion of related legal arrangements.

The decision was made at a meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries. Erdoğan said the two sides also agreed on a free trade accord under which they aimed to increase bilateral trade to $20 billion in 2015 and $40 billion in 2020.
