Ankara hosts year’s first fair

ANKARA- Cihan
The 8th Ankara Book Fair has opened at the ATO Congressium Fair and Congress Center.

Bringing together nearly 250 publishing houses, the fair accounts for 20 to 30 percent of sales for some publishing houses.

This year, 24 bibliopoles are also joining the fair in a specially prepared section, where they greet visitors with posters, stamps, second-hand books and old issues of magazines.

The guest country of the fair is Italy. Organized by Eylül Fair Management, the entrance fee this year is just 1 Turkish Liras. Teachers, students, and disabled citizens can visit the fair for free. Free bus shuttles are also available in city centers.

Eylül Fair Management official Vahap Kalkan said that last year 100,000 people visited the fair, and a record number of visitors was expected this year.
