As one of the pioneer South African Indian women lawyers I am delighted to congratulate Ms Aksoy for standing out as the most credible candidate to head the Bar. In the current political climate such Universal freedoms need the gender whose rights are often seconded in striving for equality and human dignity. I commend the lawyers who belatedly recognise a woman for her ability and see her as deserving. Will definitely liaise with her. Dr Zubeida Barmania

"As the Ankara Bar we will continue to do our best for human rights, freedoms, democracy struggle and state of law, whatever it cost..." Congratulations for your posting Ms. Aksoy. But what exactly does " do our best..." entail? And is there true to the notion that all of the federal malicious prosecutors, currently employed and appointed by the AKP controlled judiciary, were at some point or another aspiring members of the Bar who vowed to uphold and serve human rights and democracy?
