State funded youth camps will now be segregated by gender, daily Hürriyet reported.

The General Directorate of Youth and Sports has just written a new regulation which will oversee gender organized camps, where boys and girls are hosted at different periods of time in an effort to keep them segregated.

The camps host participants between the ages of 13 and 22 and for the last 6 years the have operated in a coed manner, hosting girls and boys at the same time.

The new regulation will be applied to camps on June 11.

JRC No just the state funded ones, further driving polarity in society. Something that Turkey does NOT need more of. NIYAZ People have to live in this world all together and the sooner you are able to deal with the opposite sex, then better. I do NOT understand why you feel that the mixing of the sexes is such a bad thing. I do believe I went to several camps as a youth and never had sex with anyone. Why must we make something dirty out of this kind of experience? Please see deWitHans A.

I imagine not all camps will be segregated, this may just be similar to hotels that sometimes offer conservative holidays, nothing wrong with that.

Well..It is a very good move by the Turkish government...Intermingling of sexes at a Teen age distracts young Teens..Camps are meant for personlity development and having love affairs...Just like churches and mosques are for prayers..Thumbs Up...It is going towards real development....

HI HO HI HO it's off to camp we go We're in a separate crowd where women aren't allowed HI HO HI HO HI HO HI HO I really wonder if our fellow citizens understand what is happening? probably not....:P Isn't it interesting that the people who make these laws, when their children are old enough go and live or receive an education elsewhere? Now why is that?

this is not enough. men must live with men and women with women. we shall artificially inseminate to keep the species going and in order to not let the sexes in proximity.
