Xiu Xiu to perform live at Salon İKSV

American avant-garde pop group Xiu Xiu will step into the Turkish spotlight April 7 at Salon İKSV. The concert starts at 10:30 p.m. and tickets are available at Biletix booths. Launched in 2000 as Jamie Stewart’s solo project, Xiu Xiu’s debut album, “Knife Play,” was released in 2002. Stewart prepared the albums and EPs released between 2003 and 2009 with Caralee Mcelroy. After Mcelroy left in 2009, Angela Seo joined Xiu Xiu. The latest album, “Dear God, I Hate Myself,” was released in 2010 under the Bella Union label. The band’s music is often described as provocative art-pop. In addition to Stewart, the line-up features Marc Riordan, Bettina Escauriza and Devin Ray Hoff.
