World pays tribute to Istanbul airport attack victims

The Empire State Building in New York went dark on June 29 in a show of solidarity with the victims of the attack.

“Tonight, our building will remain dark in sympathy for the victims of the Istanbul Atatürk airport attack,” the official account of the building tweeted.

The Eiffiel Tower was also decked out in red and white in solidarity with the victims.



Berlin’s iconic Brandenburg Gate and the Royal Palace of Amsterdam were also lit with the colors of the Turkish flag.

Public buildings in Australia and New Zealand were also illuminated in the colors of the Turkish flag.



The Foreign Ministry building of Mexico was also lit with the colors of the Turkish flag on June 29.


In addition, people also laid flowers in front of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow on June 29.


At least 43 people were killed and 239 others were injured in the attack targeting the airport late on June 28.
