Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said yesterday that Turkey will not allow a new cold war in the Middle East

“We don’t want tension in the region due to the polarizations between the groups such as Sunni-Shiite, Arab-Iran, status quo group and con status quo group,” said Davutoğlu, speaking at a conference titled “Turkey in the light of international developments” in Istanbul yesterday, Anatolia news agency reported.
He said Turkey will support all the projects to rebuild the economy and strengthen democracy in the region, adding the rebuilding of this region was also the interest of Turkey.

Davutoğlu said the transitions of the countries have affected countries from Morocco to Afghanistan. Davutoğlu also reiterated that Turkey has always been in support of people rather than leaders, referring to Syria. He said Turkey has always been in support of Syria for the past nine years until the regime “started a war against its own people.”
