Newly released security camera footage has shown suspected police officers beating shopkeepers standing in front of their stores during Gezi demonstrations in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir on June 2.

The video footage was revealed by daily Radikal reporter İsmail Saymaz as part of his investigation into the death of 19-year-old protester, Ali İsmail Korkmaz, who died of a brain hemorrhage after being beaten on the same street later that same evening.

The video shows the moment when policemen entered the street and began indiscriminately beating people standing on the corner of the street with their batons, including bystanders.

Korkmaz, who died on July 10 after spending 38 days in a coma, is recognized as one of the six martyrs of the Gezi Park protests.
