Technology giant Vestel has become the main sponsor of the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), the company said in a written statement on Oct. 13.
In addition to the top women’s volleyball league in Turkey, the “Sultans’ League” – which has been renamed the Vestel Venus Sultans’ League – the sponsorship deal also includes the main sponsorship of the Turkish national volleyball teams and the official sponsorship of other events organized by the TVF, with the aim of contributing to the rise of volleyball in Turkey, according to the statement.

The signing ceremony, hosted by Vestel Group of Companies Chief Executive Officer Turan Erdoğan and TVF President Özkan Mutlugil, was also attended by the athletes of the teams competing in the Vestel Venus Sultan’s League this year.

“Proudly Local” Vestel has also become the title sponsor of the Sultans’ League for the next two years.
Vestel will work together with the TVF to represent Turkey in the international arena, it added.

The Vestel Venus Sultans’ League is currently the top league in Europe with a coefficient of 491.67 points, according to the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV).

In the 17 years since Eczacıbaşı brought the first European Cup to Turkey, women’s volleyball in Turkey has grabbed nine European Championship and two World Championship Cups.

This year Turkey will be represented by a total of five teams, Eczacıbaşı VitrA, Fenerbahçe and VakıfBank in the Women’s Champions League, Galatasaray in the Women’s CEV Cup and Bursa Büyükşehir Belediye in the Women’s Challenge Cup.
