Vehicle crashes into restaurant, 11 wounded in Turkey’s Bursa

Vehicle crashes into restaurant, 11 wounded in Turkey’s Bursa Eleven people were wounded after a vehicle crashed into a restaurant on Feb. 18 in the northwestern Turkish province of Bursa, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The incident occurred in the Altınova neighborhood of the Osmangazi district of Bursa, as the driver of the light commercial vehicle lost control and crashed into a restaurant, injuring at least 11 people, including two seriously.

Police teams and ambulances were dispatched to the scene as injured customers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
      
Police reportedly found bottles of wine in the vehicle, which was stolen by the suspect identified by the initials Okan A. He was previously given a nine-year jail sentence and is a fugitive with criminal records from 25 different crimes. 

Before crashing into the restaurant, Okan A. reportedly stole the vehicle after shooting its driver. The driver who was shot remains in a critical condition at hospital. 

Police are also investigating whether the suspect killed a man found shot dead in the Osmangazi district of Bursa on Feb. 18.

Okan A., who is also being treated after the crash, will be detained after a medical examination according to police officials.
